"Knights" with John Waller

Who saw the show last night on THC? I thought it was pretty cool, I was drooling over the armour, too bad they didn't get to keep it. The armored fighting with longswords was a little weak, but these guys only trained for 2 or 3 days. At least they were making an attempt to show realistic fighting techniqes for armoured combat. The jousting was good too, I especially liked when the lance splinter got stuck in the Green Knight's breastplate!

It was interesting (on one of the local pbs stations here), I taped it and will be rewatching it to pick out what other differences there are in addition to the different version of ochs they used from what I'm familiar with. but yeah, the armor was nice, though I wouldn't have wanted to keep it unless it fit better than it did for them.

Oh yeah, maybe it was on PBS, I thought it was The History Channel but I may have been mistaken. Anyway, I enjoyed it, definately a cut above shows like "Conquest" for example.

Thanks for the reminder Matt I really want to see it. I saw an documentary on the baton the other day on History International. Mr Waller was on there as well. They actually gave credit to "western martial arts" for baton techniques that evolved from medieval staff
