Senior Free Scholar Prize Playing

Postby John_Clements » Tue Jun 03, 2003 1:01 pm

We are happy to announce that after three years of study, on May 28, Stacy Clifford successfully played his prize for Senior Free Scholar in longsword here in Houston. Stacy won over 70% of more than 60 consecutive bouts in just over an hour. The bouts consisted of two single-hit encounters with more than a dozen classmates of all skill levels, using padded contact weapons, wasters, and steel blunts, both helmeted and unhelmeted. The opposing weapons were longsword, sword & buckler, two-handed sword, and spear. Congratulations to Stacy on achieving ARMA's first certified rank of Senior Free Scholar for longsword.

Thanks everybody, it was a great test and I'm proud to have passed. It actually went to 83 bouts because John lost track and everybody got an extra turn. Tim and Jake should be so lucky! <img src="/forum/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" /> Your tests await, and I'll see you there!

Congratulations Stacy!

As one of the many who got to go a bout or two (or three) with him, I can attest to the fact that he earned it. Well done!
