Bahto Sword?

I own a small custom knife and Martial arts shop but am in no way a sword expert. A recent customer asked about a Bahto Sword, not sure of spelling. If any one has any information on this type of sword, if it exists, what are its origins, what it looks like, etc.. I would be very appreciative. shawn@woodensteel.com

Ummm, that sounds like they could be talking about the fantasy reverse blade katana from the Kenshin anime.

could be wrong here.

Never heard of a bahto sword. There is a term BATTO, as in batto-jutsu, connected with Japanese swordsmanship. It is my understanding, limited as it is, that this refers to Japanese military swordsmanship of the 20th century, which is derived from more ancient preserved forms of kenjutsu. I do not believe it refers to the sword itself. I would suggest you ask about this on www.e-budo.com's forum.
