Quick Question

What is the oldest manual we have? It appears that it's I.33, which is a German manual, but I was sure I had read somewhere that the oldest manual was written by french monks. I'd be grateful if someone could clear this up for me. Thanks.

Currently it is indeed I.33 as far as I know, which dates back to ~1295 I think, but if you can find out more about that one by French monks, there's no doubt you would generate plenty of interest around here even if it's not older.
