Immediatly after a throw(as soon as he hits the ground), dropping a knee on the his neck, chest, groin,etc... will permit you to strike him and get up quickly when he tries to pull you down with him(as Stacy stated). Back and forth between kicking, stomping, knee rides and pommeling is what you can do. Just don't stop moving and let him pull you down to "roll in the mud like pigs". LOL

If you do grapple with someone who wants to stay down and pull you down, land on him with knees to "sensitive areas" and get back up quickly. He will get the picture. It will be good practice for you to learn to stay up as well. Posture, balance, speed, and good exercise.
