Few or no unarmed videos on ARMA website.

Postby Corey Roberts » Tue Oct 03, 2006 3:23 pm

Why are their so little unarmed videos in ARMA's video section I don't think I've seen one. Maybe it would be kind of cool to have a few videos of just unarmed combative techniques?

Well if the Idiot in the Columbus study group knew how to use a video camera so it wasn't back lite and unviewable i might be able to direct you to some.

Oh wait i'm the idiot.

We have been doing more and more unarmed/dagger combat in the Columbus group, and i just got a video camera last year so i am still learning and most of the film i have shot is pretty bad. Hopefully our group will have some in the not to distant future.

Yes such unarmed videos are highly desirable.

Pursuant to fulfilling that desire, our friends at ARMA-Poland do provide some such at their website, on the page called Filmy :

http://www.arma.lh.pl/zrodla/filmy.html

There is some good stuff there.

BTW: defenses aginst dagger are basically just modified wrestling moves -- really no different.

Enjoy

Corey, I had some problems getting them at first too, but was finally able to make it happen. Assuming you're using a PC: Some of the videos are archived as .gz files so you need a program like PowerArchiver that'll allow you to unzip them (I don't think WinZip does the job). Once you unpack the files, the files themselves are saved without extensions. They're basically AVI files so if you rename the file and add the .avi extension (from "ott" to "ott.avi" for instance) they should work. Hope that helps.
