In what sort of places do you and your groups meet? I want to start a small study group as i mentioned in a previous post introducing myself (look for the rather silly title, which i apologize for), but where can we meet?
The YMCA? I would imagine you have to pay for there space. I really dont know where else would have the space and availability. Any ideas? <img src="/forum/images/icons/confused.gif" alt="" />

To get started I would suggest your study group practice in either someone's backyard or a public park.

Here in Price, Utah we have been meeing at the local college campus. If you have anyone in your group who is a college student get them to form a club on campus and then you have access to the colleges facilities. Otherwise, I agree with Randall.

In ogden we have a scholar who is also a teacher at a local Jr. High, so we get to use a nice wrestling room in that school. In salt lake we've been using the outoors (brrr)
Any place you can get in on is good. Ask around at local schools, churches you may go to, etc. Though outside is good in the summertime for publicity among other things.

well i cant really use any college space or "on campus" sites. The Art Institute of washington is on the 9-12 floors of a 12 story business building <img src="/forum/images/icons/frown.gif" alt="" />

If the weather is good, then a park. Somewhere public, and in uniform.

For indoor venues, try local churches, especially if you know any LDS folks (Mormons) that are willing to train with you. LDS churches all have a large basketball court inside which is usually open if someone just has a key.

I have also done martial arts training at a gym in a methodist church. Churches of several demoniations frequently have gyms in them, and if you know the right person and ask the right questions, you can often get access to them.

Churches seem to be a common theme, my fencing class is held at one(don't worry, it's closer to ARMA style than sport fencing, although there is a bit). Churches tend to be generous about their space as long as you don't mistreat it or interfere with their schedule.
