I had a chance to preview this video at the ARMA event after hours(In fact,I watched it twice ).What a valuable resource for anyone engaged in the art of the longsword. The treatment of the meisterhau alone is worth the price of the video. It IS that good. I already have dibs on one of the first copies shipped our way and can't recommend it highly enough. The video and Hans and Alex's personal presentation are highly complimentary of one another.Get this one.If you don't you'll beat yourself up later.Trust me

I'll second that. This is the best video of its kind that I've seen, and I'd reccomend it to any of my beginning or intermediate students.

Man, this class was so good, I took it twice. I can't wait for the video to come out. I guess it's time for me to start making wasters.

Hi there.

Thank you for the comments.

We hope that we could offer the video in four weeks. What we showed you was only the "pre production run" video. We have to kick the trumpeds out (at least the most of them) and perhaps we could add some more explanations.

Servus(a Bavarian goodbye)

Jake,

So this video is good for beginning and intermediate students? How much knowledge/skill of medieval and renaissance swordsmanship, if any, is necessary to take full advantage of this video? I am interested in ordering a copy, but I have not joined the ARMA yet, (college is expensive ), and so I have not taken part in any seminars or National Training Programs.

Craig-

Well, as is true with even the best instructional materials, a teacher really wouldn't hurt. That being said, in addition to reading and trying to self-interperet manuals and techniques, the video would still be very useful. This video doesn't really assume any knowledge at all, and it covers basic footwork, stances, cuts, and the meisterhau techniques. A pretty good begining framework. When it comes out, get it.

They're waiting to arrange things with their American distributor.

Hi,

after a long time of contract negotiations our production company decided that they want to sell the video without help.

The video is available at:

www.doguya.de

Please see at: Produkte, Medieaval Martial Arts.

You can order the video with e-mail in NTSC or PAL in English or German

I also saw the pre-production version and I liked it.

Very useful, especially for people who want to start with the German long sword. Most basics are covered.

Best regards
Bart

Cool Bart,

that is what I was hoping for. It will be nice to show this to people who are just getting started, and I hope to pick up a couple of things as well.
