John Clements article in Military History magazine

Postby Allen Johnson » Mon Jun 20, 2005 10:21 pm

Don't know if anyone else has spotted this but I just picked up a copy of the July issue of Military History magazine when I was intruiged by an article billed as "Medieval Armor: Myth of the Cumbersome Knight". Whoope! I said, finally someone is doing it right in print! I opened it up and who should be the author but our very own John Clements. Congrats John! I got it of course, but havent been able to read through the whole thing yet but so far it's brilliant, informative and a very simple read for those who still think a knight needs a crane to hoist him into the saddle. Thanks John!

Thanks, Allen. Yes, it's a shortened version of a much longer piece derived from one of my books in progress.

Another similiar (and also highly abbreviated) one of 25 pages appeared recently in the new anthology from Brill, "Hundred Years War - A Wider Focus"

Who's John Clements? <img src="/forum/images/icons/smirk.gif" alt="" />

All kidding aside, I'll try and pick up a copy next time I get to Borders. There's often some good articles in that magazine.
