Comment about Waster Makers

Postby Jeffrey Hull » Wed Jul 13, 2005 2:11 pm

A general comment: Absolutely every waster maker of whom I am aware seems to have some sort of bizarre problem in one or more areas:

1) design

2) toughness

3) delivery of product.

Some are worse than others. Some can do one or two quite well. Some can do none well. I just do not understand why there are sword-makers who can cover all these three areas fairly well for sale of their steel swords, but NOT one waster-maker ever seems to get his act together to do the same regarding wooden swords.

Sorry about that rant, but I find this issue a continued annoyance to practitioners in general. I have witnessed all of these problems in some way personally, and have read of such repeatedly from others.

What are your complaints with NSA wasters? In my experience, they excell in all 3 areas.

I am open to being proven wrong regarding my assertion! <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

I would like to know about a really good maker, and I confess my ignorance about the one you named.

Please tell me about your good experience.

All the newer wasters we've gotten from New Stirling Arms are wonderfully weighted and balanced, and are also quite tough. The customer service is interested and helpful, and my few interactions with them have left me quite satisfied.
