DEAR: Mr. Clements
I am writing this letter to request an associate membership to the association for renaissance martial arts. However I have a special issue regarding the requirements needed to fill out a membership form, this being my age due to the fact I am only 13 I cannot register for an active associate membership. Therefore I cannot receive access to the study material made available in the member’s section. Which in turn greatly disabilities my ability to study and practice the medieval and renaissance martial arts. As you may have all ready asserted I have written this letter to request special permission for an associate membership. Yet before you decide to refuse my request first let my clarify some of my reasons for asking this of you. I have already taken up the renaissance martial arts to the best of my ability with the resources I have available. I have no study groups near my currant area; sport fencing and eastern martial arts simply do not hold the qualities I am looking for. I also feel despite my age I hold a very firm understanding and experience with weapons and their intended purpose because of my background with weapons. I was introduced to fire arms archery and various bladed weapons and tools at a very young age 4 or so. Not due to the fact my father was crazy but because he wonted me to have an understanding of how to be safe with weapons and how to avoid injuring oneself, he also wonted me to have a great respect for weapons and their indented use which I feel I do to this early introduction. I feel both you and me would agree that using weapons, which you have no teaching with, is dangerous and should be avoided. But such is my love for the renaissance martial arts that I feel a great erge to continue into more advanced area of the western martial arts which are without doubt more hazardous to ones self. So I ask again with both my parent’s full consent and understanding of the inherent risks. Will you pleas consider the matter from my position? For although the decision to make this choice is complete in your hands it holds a great level of importance to me, for it hold a central part in my dream of being able to study historical swordsmanship with intelligent and like-minded individuals.
Yours truly with best regards: Dylan palmer
P.S ill understand in the full if you refuse but I felt if I didn’t give this a try I wouldn’t really be trying to gain the highest amount of skill I could in medieval and renaissance swordsmanship.
P.P.S the youth group is out of reach due to the fact I cannot home school I am also under the impression that you cannot gain study material from the youth group.
