That was fun!

Postby Eric Cartrette » Sat Jan 14, 2006 1:17 pm

Hello,
I just met with Ben Strickling a while ago. He showed me the basics, then chased me around the park . . . I mean we did some light sparring. It's a good workout and I really enjoyed learning about the sword.

Great! Was it your first encounter with Renaissance martial arts in a training related instance?

Welcome to the art. Now you just need some bruises, get hit in the head a bit and some broken fingers for a full introduction to this wonderful thing....

And to stab and or mangle something with a sharp, blunt, or wooden waster!!!
Thanks, Bill
You have got to love the violence inherent in the system.

It was my first experience! I saw a lot of simularities in the stances between eastern and western MA. I didn't tell Ben, but I did tweek a weak ankle out there. I'll probably feel that later. I've had trouble sleeping lately, I'll bet I sleep like a rock tonight, I'm SO tired. The violence? What's so violent about trying to cut each other up with a sharp object?
It was a lot of fun and I look forward to truly getting down what I learned today, then learning more.
