Mike Loades is kind of a medieval warfare rent-a-quote over here. His back ground, I believe, is theatrical sword play. He's quite a good presenter but can talk out of his arse sometimes. At some point in the programme, he usually manages to present to camera while sitting on a horse that he is making weave back and forth in front of the camera in an "exciting" manner.

He also has a reputation of trying to blag any props ie other peoples swords, left lying around on set. I've no idea if this reputation is well deserved however.
