Any South Jersey ARMA members

Postby M » Wed Dec 10, 2008 6:14 pm

I'm not yet a member, but I would like to attend a study group. I emailed the group leader found on the practice partners page, but I did not receive a response. I would like know if anyone can put me in contact with any of the other members in the South Jersey ARMA or tell me when and where they study.

I did the same with the North NJ leader, I got nothing as well. Well, if he doesn't want to talk to me, that's fine too.

As for attending ARMA meetings without being in ARMA, I'm unsure if you're allowed to or not. Once my schedule frees up in a few months I'm joining ARMA regardless of my ability to attend their meetings or not if only for the resources this opens me up to.

Yes, you can attend ARMA practices by invitation for a short while at least (a trial period, usually a few weeks), but if you plan on being a regular then you need to apply for membership obviously. If you can't get hold of the New Jersey guys then try David Knight up in New York. It's a bit longer drive, but he's an experienced member who can give you a good intro. You could also try looking up Tim Sheetz on here, since I think his dad runs one of the NJ groups and he might be able to get a message through for you. Keep in mind that not everybody remembers to update their contact info on this site with the best and latest if they change, so they're probably not ignoring you, more likely you're lost in an email blizzard, a spam filter or an abandoned account. Pretty much everybody I've ever met in ARMA welcomes new practice partners with enthusiasm, so don't give up, just network until you find somebody who knows the people in your area.

As Stacy just said, Tim Sheetz's dad runs a study group in South NJ that I go to whenever I'm not in school.

The email address on this website is his older one and I can get you his new one if you want. Send me a private message and I can hook you up with him, and if that doesn't work I can contact him personally for you.

We could ALWAYS use more members.

I'll be in the area after next week for about a month since I'll be on winter break once finals finish if you're there at the time.

Look forward to seeing you!
