ARMA Provost Announcement

Postby John_Clements » Tue Aug 03, 2010 4:09 pm

Attention All:

I am honored to make the overdue announcement that, Deputy Director of Aaron Pynenberg, for some time my designated official apprentice, has acquired the ranking of ARMA Provost.

Historically, the Provost title within the Schools of Defence was that of an assistant instructor rating. The ARMA has never before officially used it until now. I pleased to reveal that I have personally appraised Aaron's skill in longsword and other weaponry such that he has proven to me his knowledge and ability in our core curriculum. Aaron has earned this title through his tireless commitment and unmatched dedication to our craft and well as his example of unselfish leadership. His progress and studious efforts in the pursuit of Renaissance martial arts over the last four-a-half years has been nothing short of extraordinary to me. His tireless work to aid this organization and its membership has been beyond admirable. In his role as Deputy Director and my lieutenant has been a rock for me to rely on. The knowledge and experience he continually brings to our fellowship of real-world violence and combatives has been invaluable to our fellowship while his dedication and loyalty to our standards and to our credo have been inspiring. Having run a Study Group of his own, worked with me at multiple events, workshops, and demonstrations, as well as taught more of our curricula courses on his own than any one other than myself, Aaron has acquired my unsurpassed confidence. Aaron has attended more Member Training Program seminars in addition to more private instructional sessions with me than anyone while also participating in numerous other events, prizings, and presentations with me. Acting as an assistant instructor he has proven an asset to not only our club but to the field of historical fencing studies. His martial skills, proficient knowledge of the source teachings, and his ability to teach nearly all aspects of our craft have progressed to where I am left with both a personal and professional pride. As I have never known a student with greater virtues of personal focus, discipline, and martial spirit, it is for these reasons that I have advance him to his new ranking.

It is with this understanding that, after having evaluated him as a fighter and as a student, I am privileged and honored to now declare him our first ever Provost. I am proud to have him standing beside me on the path of the sword.

Sincerely,

John Clements
ARMA Director
