Server switch notice

Postby Webmaster » Thu Sep 04, 2003 12:59 pm

I just noticed this, so I thought I should let everybody know: when the DNS settings are changed to switch a site from one server to another, the changes do not propagate everywhere in the world simultaneously, but take hold region by region over a couple of days. Such was the case with our switch over the weekend, and as a result, some of you yesterday were still looking at the site on the old server when you were trying to post to the forum, while some of you were looking at the new one. In a few places, this might still be going on, but should be cleared up after today. At any rate, a couple of posts, including my own all clear notice, were actually made on the old server and need to be reposted now that the switch is complete. Shane, when you see this, please repost your thread about rimmed shields. If anyone else notices a post they made earlier missing, this is what happened, and it is a normal part of the transfer process for stuff like this to happen. Sorry for the inconvenience. Again, if anybody finds any problems, please e-mail me at webmaster@thearma.org. There is a display issue in Netscape that I am already aware of and working on.

Stacy -

I don't know if you'd heard yet, but I figured I'd let you know that so far everything on the site is working great with the new Mac browser Safari.

Thanks for all the hard work you've done with this!
