I would like to thank everyone who attended and made this event a success. First and most importantly to Stew for teaching some of his considerable expertise (and showing us what sword and buckler should really look like!). Secondly to the new ARMA affilitiates. It was great to meet you, train with you and have you get a good introduction to the art. Finally to David Kite and the regulars of the Columbus study group for some spirited freeplay and usual comeraderie.

We wanted to thank everyone who helped pull together this fine event and Stew for coming in to teach it. We would also like to thank everyone for thier considerable patience with us as we tried to learn the incredible amount of information that was shared. This was a wonderful first experience with ARMA. We had a great time and are looking forward to attending more events in the future.

I would like to say thanks to everyone from Nick and I. We learned at least one bruise from each of you and had a blast doing it. It was an awesome experience that we hope to repeat soon.

Special thanks to Jaron for putting it together and Stew for all the drills, lessons, pronunciation, and tidbits of wisdom that I am trying to keep in my head.

Hey all, had a blast, liked seeing 1.0 from a new angle, great to meet so many new faces and get our newer locals in connection with the wider ARMA membership. Always fun to share and learn with everyone; keep in contact and hope to hear from and see more of you soon.

best

P.S.
I tried to figure out a way to send the group photo, but cannot do it, so I added it to our yahoo group (arma_clb) in the photo section. Perhaps a computer wiz can take it from there to here, otherwise just join the group and take it from there.

P.P.S.
As for those interested in hunting down all those printable resources, remember that some are in the public section, while others are only available on the Armaria and E-list files. There are far more than I brought for folks to leaf through to compare manual styles.

Hey, Ohio group, thank you!

The seminar was fantastic. Fun and informative. So much to learn! I'm trying to write down everything for practice, but I've already forgotten some of the terminology.

My only complaint is the weather. You guys will have to arrange for warmer weather next time. :P But seriously, the facility was great.

And I really did enjoy finally meeting a bunch of people and putting faces to names, both in the Columbus group, and travelers.

And, Stu, thank you for coming out to teach. Hope you get over your cold soon.

BTW, having it start in the afternoon was brilliant. That let us drive out on Saturday morning, rather than spending an extra night in the hotel.

Looking forward to the Meyer seminar.

I also thank the Columbus group for pulling this together. Special thanks to Stewart Feil for stepping up and conducting this 1.0, to Jaron for organizing and letting me camp on his floor. I'd also like to thank everyone who did a bit of freeplay with me and for rolling on the mats (and to Eric for being willing to explore during halfswording).

Great event. I learned a lot. Thank you. Looking forward to meyer in April.

Hrm. Cannot view pictures in arma_clb unless I'm a member of that yahoo group. In theory you can put an image on this forum just by putting it on a website somewhere and then doing:

Code: Select all

(obviously replacing the URL with whatever the actual URL of the picture is... I can't get the picture from the forum or I'd go ahead and do this)

Merely posting my thanks for the great time. It was well worth it and a great birthday present. You have inspired a new hobby in me, one that I will hopefully carry throughout my years.
I saved Latin. What did you ever do?
