Appleton NTP 1.0 and Seminar

Postby Aaron Pynenberg » Sun Oct 02, 2005 8:53 pm

I am pleased to report that the Appleton Seminar went off without a hitch. I have many people to thank-

First off, thanks to John for coming "up north" and giving us all some first class instruction. I am convinced that simply being in the same room with him makes you better. (especially when he's trying to hit you)

Kevin Peterson, and Brad Lambrecht have continued to be a constant active force here, helping to drive our efforts and move ARMA-Appleton along. I always know that these guys will do whatever it takes to help me out. Thanks guys, you were both a large part of our success.

Thank you to all that traveled so far to attend. I hope that you enjoyed yourselves and learned so much that your mind has turned to mush and right now you are sitting on a couch somewhere doing nothing. All of you did a great job, were attentive and it was a pleasure having you in Appleton. You are welcome here anytime, please visit us again- (just bring your waster......and food....yes, and maybe a shrubbery...or possibly a hering...)

so- in closing, thanks again! This was our first "go" at an official event, we had a some great conversation, great instruction, great physical exercise, some sparring, a ton of networking, comraderie and practice, what else could you ask for, hmmm......(shrubbery?)

Hello,
Being one of the attendees, I can say WOW that was great. I would also like to thank everyone in the Appleton group and John for a great weekend, this was my first ARMA event but not the last, I learned so much and got so psyched up words fail me to describe it. I was hooked on ARMA before but now I really want to go go go! All I need is my “red” shirt, and those “secret scrolls” I heard so much about (inside joke) and I can continue my adventure to the happy place of enlightenment and sword competence. In closing, all I can say is that if you have not attended an ARMA event do so you will love it.
Thanks to everyone who attended for being so nice and welcoming and I hope to see you all again.
Dak

Thanks, guys. I enjoyed it. Some pics will be online soon.
There's a good and well organized bunch up there and the dedication is impressive. Very nice suprise to receive an event t-shirt too.
It was also good to see some of you once more and note your improvement.
We'll see you all soon again.

Gene - You may very well need one of those foam 'cheeseheads' for protection on your next visit account the Armateer skills have grown exponentially in this area thanks to JC's excellent 1.0 presentation &amp; the collective efforts of the ARMA Appleton group!

I have long awaited my first NTP 1.0 (work &amp; family demands had restricted me from previous opportunities), and this session genuinely surpassed my expectations. JC corrected many previously held erroneous - or incomplete - understandings I personally had for many techniques. I walked away with some large 'bones' of knowledge to gnaw upon &amp; further digest into skillful application.

I'd like to mention that the pleasant temperment - and delightful eagerness to learn and apply earnestly - exhibited by those non-ARMA members present certainly proved them all to be excellent candidates for ARMA membership and partners in our continued cooperative learning. Continuing with the themes of togetherness and equality, I'd also like to remind any future ARMA event attendees to pay close attention to any posted dress codes. Plain red, white, or black apparel means just that - absent of any manufacturers logos, etc. This can be remedied prior with a deliberate steam application to any logos, etc. This policy should never be misconstrued as some draconian imposition, because the main purpose of any uniform codes are to reiterate the equality of our membership, as well as to avoid the possible appearance of any implicit product endorsements by the group. I apologize to the group for being the only attendee who failed to fully comply with the dress code. <img src="/forum/images/icons/blush.gif" alt="" /> Preemptive measures and closer attention to detail by me would have reserved more duck tape for padded weapon repairs.

Lol! Duct tapt Chris...duct tape. The answer to everything:)

A Big thank you to Aaron, Kevin, and Brad! You guys put on a great well organised event. Also a big thanks to Aaron's wife Angie for making us sandwitches:) Thanks Aaron and Angie for the hospitality of your home. I felt right at home.

Thanks to John for making it up here. It was great to see you again and as always the stuff you showed us / talked about was wonderful and meaty food for thought. Plus, now you know all about the Wisconsin greatness that is cheese curds and beer samplers:)

Also, as per usual, it was neat to meet folks face to face after only knowing eachother through the web. That is always one of the things that make events so special IMO. Nice as always to see old friends as well...even if they don't realise the greatness that is duct tape until the hoards are upon them:)

I'd like to second what was said earlier, those nonmembers that made it to the event were some quality folks. Looking forward to possibly seeing you "in the red".

Hmmm, what else to say...? Oh yeah! It was fun!
