I bought this on ebay. Anyone add info on it?

Postby Shane Smith » Sun Nov 27, 2005 8:57 am

I bought this hanger on ebay after doing a bit of research. It looks legit when compared to known originals I've seen in books on period swords although it's bit nicer than most I've seen from the mid 18th century. I got it for less than most quality repro's so I don't feel I could have made a bad purchase. Do any of you guys have any further thoughts or info on swords of this later pattern to offer? Thanks <img src="/forum/images/icons/cool.gif" alt="" />

You should take some more detailed pictures and post it on the antique weapons forum on SFI. There are alot of guys there that know their stuff. Looks like a typical hanger. Nice backsword blade. Might be good for some spadroon work, which is alot of fun.

My father and I are selling a 22ft. tall Trebuchet that can throw a 10lb. projectile 200ft on average on Ebay if anyone is interested. Bidding starts at $600. Still has 6 days left as of 11/29/05.

Yeah....see....now that's what I'm talkin' about.

Got a link to that auction?

(Hey Shane, I thought you were investing in some rapier-hole-pokin'-equipment? -grin-).
