Jeff and Jaron Bernstein run an excellent study group in Columbus. I realize that 180 miles is a long distance, but IMHO it is worth your while to try and train with them, if nothing more than once a month. Also, Jeff and Jaron are (reasonably) nice people I'm sure if you gave them a call, they might be able to arrange some extra study time with you.

Good luck.

I live in Lancaster Ohio (43130). I can work around your schedule to some degree as I work funny hours.

We meet on the OSU campus for group practice. Sunday is typically "basics" day and Friday is for sparring (sword, rondel and wrestling depending on what everyone wants to do).

Send an email if you want to discuss it.

Gene,

I try to be a nice person.... Sometimes I just get the urge to hit people with swords.

You might also want to burn some vacation time and travel to a 1.0 as a proper introduction to the art.

Doug:

As mentioned elsewhere, you might want to burn some vacation time and hit a 1.0 seminar.... We have one coming up on the Outer Banks in April 1 weekend.

In fact, I too lived in Ohio for about 11 years until I got tired of the 9 hr drive back and forth and ended up settling here locally...although I do miss the lightshows from some of them crippler thunder & rain storms on the Pickaway Plains.

Used to live in 45623...but would definitely suggest the NTP 1.0 seminar and also trekking to an established study group (as in Columbus). Good luck!

I would prefer southern weather. It is 20 degrees in Ohio now. I have been very briefly to the south 4 times in my life and every Ohio winter I wonder why I came back here.
