For those attending we went through some of the Meyer material we are going to be presenting and it should be a good event, alot of work on dagger and unarmed.

The Columbus group is looking forward to this.

I think this event is going to be fairly unique, we are going to cover alot of material in one day and then nothing but freeplay the next day, wrestling, sword, dagger, what ever you want with who ever will play, and we have mat's so we can use most all the throw's with less fear of hurting each other.

I am looking forward to this.

re: 50$ + 10$ per day for guest passes to this cool facility:

If people will let me know ahead of time, the facility says it will waive the 10$ daily fee for our non-Osu guests since it is a sport club event. I have a so-far list from Jaron, but please let me know if you still want to arrive and we can add people even day of events.

Well I am sitting here about 2.5 hour's after our weekend of study and my arm's, leg's, and neck are sore and i am totaly exhauseted, we had a great class yesterday with Gene on Petter and his method of wrestling(4 hrs of lifting people), And Aaron P gave a great class on scenario training and Jaron did a class on the throw's found in Meyer (more lifting people).

We did have a high flying time literaly.

Today We aquired a new GFS in Keith Culbertson congrat's we sparred pretty much every weapon we had LS, SB, Dolchen, and ringen until pretty much we could not sparr anymore.

Thank's to all who attended, and Gene and Aaron for the instruction, hopefully Elizabeth got some good nuturing of her female aggression.

Thank you for the congratulations Jeff, and thank you all who attended and especially the instructors for preparing so much great material. We had a great time together during and after hours, building ARMA comraderie ever more so.

I forgot to distribute Elizabeths pic from Sat, so give me a private e-mail with address if anyone wants their copy.

I would also like thank everyone who came in to train with us. Gene gave an awesome class on Nicholas Petter and Aaron Pynenberg taught very useful scenario based concepts for more realistic training. A good time was had by all.

I had a great time training with you guys. Certainly glad you invited me up for the weekend.

The Columbus group has a fantastic training facility. I strongly recommend to anyone who is in the Ohio area to make the time to train with this study group when they have the opportunity. It will be time definitely well spent.

Aaron P. gave a real eye-opening presentation on scenario-based training which, IMHO, has great applications for ARMA work. Can't wait to incorporate it with the Southside group. Jaron's presentation on Meyer's wrestling really did show how to make your opponent fly. Fortunately, the Columbus group has access to really great wrestling mats which means these techniques can go at full speed with no risk of injury.

Congrats to Keith for passing his GFS test. Well-earned.

And, if the weekend was not perfect enough already, the Bucks beat Cincinatti. OH-IO!!!

Congrats to the Columbus study group again for a truly excellent weekend and finding such a great training space.

Ohio Guys: Thanks for the great session! The Ohio group does without a doubt now have one of the coolest training facilities I have yet to see. They should have no problems, recruiting people now, man, what a sweet area to train....

Thanks for a great weekend everyone. Gene thanks for showing me around and letting me hang out with you, Your class was well organized, and the subject matter was especially relevant to our historical studies. That wrestling system is without a doubt, very nasty-as my body continously reminded me the next day.

I was sore from the very top of my cranium, to my toes. My Wife felt really bad for me, (OK so she didn't really, something about that's what I get, should have just went to the mall, etc)..

Jaron's class also showcased some especially nasty little moves, sure to ruin anybody's day and you could tell he put a ton of study time in preping for the class, good job Jaron!

Congrats to Kieth on passing your GFS test, it was great to hang out with all of you as usual.

Thanks to all of you for the complimentry comments on the class, I would welcome any suggestions on improvement or any other comments either in this arena or by P.M. - Thanks again everyone! Aaron P.

This was a great event - PM me if you want me to e-mail the group pic to you. I'll get to it and the Blackwell requests when we get back to MN. We spent the day hiking the Indiana Dunes and next we're doing some parks in Wisconsin on the way.

My female aggression was definitely nurtured on several levels. Level one: being frustrated because we were late both days since there was so much football and move-in traffic and the first day nobody seemed to know there even was an athletic center since I had to ask something like four people for directions before I got the right building. Level two: feeling empowered because several patient explanations of a wrestling move led me to successfully throw several ARMA gentlemen who easily weighed 200+lbs each. Level three: having several of same gentlemen come back the next day and encourage me to spar with them and to hit them as hard as I could and cheer me on when I succeeded. I definitely didn't feel shy about trying to hit people like Keith who were in full armor and Jaron whose blows showed me how hard I should be hitting. Apologies again to Gene for that one hit and congrats to Keith for earning his GFS.

Each person there was incredibly patient, kind, and mutually supportive and it was easy to feed off the enthusiasm we all had. It was awesome to have Gene there and it was a pleasure to meet everyone and to see Aaron and Jeff again. I feel I learned more than I can put words to -- and that I have so much to learn. The Columbus group is very awesome and it's more than worth the drive to hang out with them. Thanks guys for a wonderful time. :D

I'm always a little sore after any seminar, but I have to say this was the most physically exhausting event I've attended. I think everyone was just flat pooped Sunday afternoon.

It was great seeing everyone again and meeting new people.

Great instructional classes by Gene, Aaron, and Jaron. There was a ton of material to absorb, and a lot of material to bring home, too. It was an exceptional weekend.

Congrats to Keith on his GFS.

and yes, OSU has awesome facilities.

Thought i would give everyone a head's up, we are discussing/planning another Ohio study weekend sometime in the spring.

We would like to do these a couple time's a year's spring and fall, also we would like to keep these either free or extremely low cost event's (under 50 dollar's Per person), Anyone who is working on something new or has not seen something taught much outside there group feel free to contact the Columbus Ohio study group with idea's and we can see who/what is available to teach or if you would be willing to teach something that would be great, we have a high enough ceiling and lot's of mat's so we can do anything from staff to wrestling and anything in between, we would like to keep these free or extremely low cost.

Hope to see you all in the spring at our next get together.
