This is a really neat map that shows 5000 years of history on a changing map. While not directly "sword " related it still gives an interesting, easily understood great overview of the history in which they were used.

Excellent find! With everything going on in the mideast today, I believe that it is important to understand the history of the past events that have helped to lead up to all of the current events. I would like to see the spread of certain religions along with the empires on this map to help illustrate how it pertains to todays news events.

David, that is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time.

When I bought a Mac back in 1994, a variety of educational software programs came with it. One of the CD's had a program detailing the rise of Russia, which was presented in much the same fashion as the website.

This is a really nice map. I wonder; are their other ones like it?
