Longswords, maces and axes in later XVI century.

Do you know if in later XVI century, longswords, axes, warhammers and maces were still used by heavy cavalry lancers as side weapons, or they were replaced by the broad bladed war rapier and pistol?

I know that in a manual from 1542 that Paulus Hector Mair featured small-halberd / pollaxe prominently as a dueling weapon. He showed it wielded by unarmoured fighters. But lack of portrayal in armour cannot be taken as implying non-nobility. So I have only to offer you an ambiguous answer to you question
