In my experience, when the SCA says greatsword, they are usually refering to a sword that is 6 to 7 feet in length. Is this what they want you to use? If so, just use it in the same style as a halberd or glave. If they mean a 4 to 4 and a half foot sword then any of your longsword techniques from the german or italian tretises would serve you well. It is hard to help without knowing for sure what you are using.

Also be aware that most SCA groups don't allow greatsword strikes of more than 90 or 180 degrees...definitely not the kind of strike you'll practice as much around here.

That being said, if you need endurance with a greatsword, spend lots of time swinging one around.
