Hi, everyone. I'm very interested in joining ARMA & I'd like to find some locals willing to help me get started on the longsword. So far I've read John Clements' Medieval Swordsmanship and a lot of the essays & articles on this site. I'm also trying to practice the basic guards, cuts & footwork (with an old souvenir "sword" at the moment - NSA waster is on the way).

Based on old forum posts, it sounds like I really need to attend a 1.0 (too bad I couldn't make it to Oahu!) & find someone nearby to point me in the right direction. So if anyone is willing, I would definitely appreciate it!

Thanks,
Derek

I'm in Boulder. There seem to be several of us types in the area. If other people are interested we should look into actually getting a group together.

Cooper,
Getting a group together sounds good. I'm at the border of Littleton/Lakewood, so it's not much of a drive to Boulder. Have you met up with others in the area before? It looks like there are a few people on the member list, but I don't know who's active.

Steven,
La Junta/Paris is a bit farther away of course, but if you have something to match the Louvre there, maybe it's worth the drive. Thanks for the heads up.

Derek
