Pole Arms Technics and Books

Postby Mathieu Fecteau » Tue Jul 14, 2009 9:06 am

Bonjour

I would like to know if someone can give me good references and books about combat technic with pole arms in the XVth century. Don't hesitate to send me an e-mail instead of replying on the board.

mathieu.fecteau@hotmail.com.

Many thanks

Anything to do with the Polearms of Paulus Mair would be a great place to start, be it a translation of original codex copy.

One obvious source is this one:

Joachim Meyer's 1570 manual also contains a significant section on staff and halberd, you can buy that on Amazon.

Meyer (1570) devotes a whole chapter to them, with clear descriptions and great woodcuts.
