Dutch, Weaponry

Postby Guest » Mon Feb 02, 2004 10:26 pm

Just wondering if anyone could help direct me to some further information that would help me in my research. I am interested in learning more about what weaponry and martial ways the dutch people have used in history.
I have already read and studied Nicolaes Petter Dutch Martial Arts.. Just wondering if someone might have some further insight???
Thanks,
Christopher

There is an interesting and unique weapon used by the Flemish peasantry against the French and Spanish in a couple of different battles, called the Guden-Tag. It was something like a two handed mace with a spearhead. Similar in general use to a halberd.... i.e. used like a spear defensively and then with a great swipe as opportunity presented itself.
