NTP 1.0 In Ohio next month/New Guy

Postby Nathaniel Bacon » Wed Jan 10, 2007 8:54 am

Hello All,

Although I find myself with no more free time today vs when I intended on joining up six months ago, several pieces have fallen into place. I am attending my first NTP 1.0 in Ohio on Feb 2nd and 3rd with my younger brother and could use a few pointers to make sure we are prepped when we go.

I am an outdoorsman and a history buff so I picked up John Clements book on medieval swordsmanship about a year ago, read it, and am now going back through it again. I ordered a hand and a half wooden waster from NSA and received it a few weeks ago after trolling the forums, but haven’t had time to drill with it. (Between Christmas and buying my first house this has been on the backburner for a little while). If any of you have any tips for me, I would love to know what I can do to prepare for the NTP 1.0 (drills, exercises, etc.). Also I could use some suggestions for equipment, shoes in particular. I have plenty of sweats and T’s but my manly footwear selection consists of only dress shoes for work, hiking boots, and snow boots. I assume any pair of low top tennis shoes will work but if I am buying new anyway – may as well look for the right stuff.

I appreciate the help,
Nate

wrestling shoes are my pick if you are going to train regularly, otherwise, low top tennis shoes are fine and more useful for life overall.

See you in February! 8)

Indoor soccer shoes work well, but I still like wrestling shoes best.

"Yes, pointy end goes in the man."
