Great new workout idea

Postby Allen Johnson » Tue Mar 15, 2005 11:53 pm

This may not be available to everyone but it was a fun idea so I thought I'd share it. We all know how much arms, shoulders, forearms, and even finger stregnth come into play when doing swordsmanship. The other day a friend took me rock climbing for the first time. What a workout! We were at simulated rock wall at a local fitness center and it didnt take long for my fingers and whole arms to be burning and strained. I really dislike doing the whole freeweight thing. So this may be a different but really fun thing to try and have some benifit come sword time <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />
"Why is there a picture of a man with a sword in his head on your desk?" -friends inquiry

Rock Climbing is a very good workout. IT uses your body weight as the resistance. I like that sort of thing.

I know that climbing is on that list of things they used to do for exercise.

I've really gotten into swimming lately as my "aerobic base" exercise. Not sure how much our ancestors swam, but I do like it.
