Hallo Tyrone
look Icelandic Glima is not exactly Runa Glima. I mean Runa Glima is not a style of Glima .
Runa Glima is different martial art , who is evolved from Glima .
For example like traditional ju jutzu and modern judo ....
Glima has 3 styles . trousergrip(belt wrestling), hryspenna(backhold wrestling) and lausatoek wrestling (free wrestling who is in some places of Scandinavia trained as selfdefense with striking elements..)

And now to Runa Glima : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runa_Glima
Wikipedia say that Runa Glima is evolved from the selfdense variation of Glima Lausatoek Glima.
http://runaglima.webs.com/aboutus.htm this is the webside of Runa Glima and there you can communicate with Mr. Weber( the trainer of Runa Glima) if you wish to learn more about Runa Glima ...
Yes I am also very interested in Ringen . I find Ringen is truly effective , and despite that this art is largely forgotten the techniques of the manuals are awesome and I believe thay have a very great beneficing for the modern selfdefense.... As I read for the first time the preface of the ''Vollstaendiges Ringbuch'' from Johann Georg von Paschen (1659) , it makes my skin crawl ....
those few words are the standart problem of the world ... sadly everyone relied on size and strength , but he feels in danger if he is confronted to a smaller man trained in a good and effective martial art ( in this case Ringen) ...
if you have more questions , please ask more .....
best regards
Vag
