I'm curious if anyone has been considering contributions to the Wikipedia on the topic of european martial arts. Looking through the various articles on the masters, the techniques, and martial arts in general, most are overly brief, incomplete, and/or innaccurate.
I personally don't know enough about these topics to outdo the people who have posted already, but many on these forums certainly do. Heck, most of the articles posted on the site would be great as articles.
For those not familiar with the Wikipedia, info can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:About
It's essentially an open-access online encyclopedia whose entries consist entirely of submissions from readers. Anyone can submit and anyone can edit articles. The concept behind wikis is that with the amount of traffic that such pages recieve, people with knowledge on any topic will be able to review such articles, identify errors and misinformation, and correct it. In this way, the whole wiki (in this case, the encyclopedia) will be refined with every post. Meaning that if you think that the article of Liechtenhauer is inadequite, you can edit it or change it completely. And anyone else passing through can correct any errors in yours.
Anyway, just thought I'd bring this up since I doubt most members were aware of it. It's a good chance to clear up a lot of misconceptions about our art, since Wikipedia has enormous traffic. (Though the articles posted thus far aren't terrible, as such things go--they're just not complete.)
