OT: News of Jake Norwood!

Postby JeanryChandler » Tue Dec 14, 2004 6:30 pm

I happened to blunder across this.. by word of explanation, I wrote part (the weapons encyclopedia) of a new book which just came out this weekend for Jakes ARMA-approved role playing game, "The Riddle of Steel". Jake sold his game to a gaming company in New York this summer when he joined Army, while the book was still in development.
I was reading through some online discussions about the new book when I ran across the following:

"For those of you who are TROS fans, one of my fellows is Officer Candidate Norwood, who is also a member of the ARMA.
He is a real cool down to earth guy that destroys people in combatives class. He said he published TROS material and is a great resource for medieval combat.
He got a little trigger happy this weekend at his FLX however and blasted one of his platoon mates with about 6 blanks from a M240B "light" machine gun
If anyone knows him tell him what I wrote "

You can read it here:

I believe combatives class is the new hand-to-hand training they are doing.

Sounds like the old Jake!

Hey all.

It wasn't one of my classmates or a friendly, actually. It was a TAC Officer who was reffereeing the event. He stuck his head out of the same window that an OPFOR guy had just fired out of, so I did no wrong. Besides, we all wanted to shoot the TACs.

I look forward to being around here more now (a few times a week, if I can) as my training schedule lightens up. Bit by bit I'll be re-integrating, but if I'm slow responding to personalemails or messages or any of the boards, please be patient, I've got 6 months worth of email and messages I'm trying to catch up on in addition to still being very busy.
