Columbus seminar and NTP 1.1

Postby JeffGentry » Thu Jan 13, 2005 12:40 pm

Hello Folk's

Well the Columbus Ohio study group is doing another class, April 16-17 we will be hosting John for a seminar and NTP 1.1, if anyone is interested please see the info in the event's section of the ARMA site and contact Jaron Bernstien, we need to find out how many will be attending to finalize the planning for this event, this should prove to be very educational for every one in attendance.

Jeff, hard to say if my schedule and other events will allow it this far in advance. But barring unforseen circumstances count me there.

Good. I was hoping that was still on the plate for this year.

Definitely count me there. I'll shoot Jaron an email as well, just to be sure I'm counted.

Maybe we could get some test-cutting material together and have a more formal cutting session than at the 1.0 last summer?

Hey David

That might be a possibility, we could probably get tatami mat's and bamboo from the martial art's school we are using and i am getting some fairly hard cardboard tube's from were i work there about 3 inche's in diameter we have test cut on them once and there so hard we can't cut through them it is a good workout though, i was thinking about making a couple portable stand's this might be a god excuse.
Just e-mail Jaron we are trying to get an idea of how many attendee's we might have so it is appreciated.

Katherine

I don't need to know tommorrow, I am just wanting some advance notice last time we did a class it was kind of last minute, so i just wanted to put it out where people would be sure to see it.

why should he not forget his helmet am i missing something?

One of the challenges is that I have gotten 6 or so emails from people who expressed interest, responded with info and then got no replies. So we have no idea how many to expect. Hopefully by this time next week will have a site reserved and locked in with an overhead roof and nice soft falling mats even. We are deciding now between 2 sites. We can pick people up from the airport and lodge them at one of several houses for free. Ye just need to get here with yourself, a waster, fighting spirit, some $ and we will do the rest.

Hi Jeff,

Well I'll get yall something a little more solid ASAP, but I'll most likely be coming even if I have to take off work.

I think it would be cool to have test cutting materials on hand aswell.

The helmet thing is a bit of an inside joke, at the seminar in Knoxville last summer David and I were sparring and I accidently zwerchhau'd him in the nose pretty solidly

And thank God it was a padded weapon! That whole seminar was a blast, but when I think back to our sparring it just makes me smile.

You should definitely make it to this, Kat. Then we can show them what "intent" really means.

Ohhhhhh David, David

Wait until we get some padded's sword's, i'll give you a demonstration of intent i'll hit yea and you'll say what just happened, ask Jaron about the bruise on his arm or when i choked him, and Jaron will choke the dog pee out of yea, or if he get's a hold of your arm he'll damn near dislocate your elbow/break your arm.

NTP smack talk is cool- I can't wait to get in some sparring and some wrestling. I have been training like a mother all year-man, I am getting super pumped all-ready-I hope we serve up a little melee that was fun last time- Aaron

I sent you an email about the seminar and 1.1 logistics. Did you get it?

No problem. I just don't want this time to be an exercise in improvisation like it was last time to some degree. If John C. is up for it, bring your Baron and we can massacre some milk jugs or bamboo.
