ARMA Code of Conduct?

Postby GeorgeHill » Tue Feb 01, 2005 9:12 am

I was recommended to read the ARMA code of conduct, (I got into something of an argument with another scholar I felt was insulting me and was told to read the code of conduct...)

Now, I’m trying to be good, and learn all I can, so I’m willing to go read it and try to abide by it, (even when insulted, sigh.)

But I can't find it, it’s supposed to be on the public pages, but I can't find it. Can anyone link me directly to it? (Or even paste it here?)

George,

The code of conduct is on the page immediately before the forum. It is in the white print at the top.

I think this is what you are looking for.

THANK YOU! I was convinced that it would be labeled "Code of conduct" from the way I was told to look for it. I confess I was rather expecting something with sub-paragraphs and whatnot.

If you feel that someone is being uncivil to you and you find yourself tempted to flame back at them, the first thing you need to do is step away from the keyboard. Take time to think about your answer and consider that the other person may not have said something the way they meant it. Not everybody is a great writer, so give them the benefit of the doubt at first. If there really isn't any doubt, then deal with it through personal e-mail, not in public where the rest of us get dragged into the argument. At the very least try to be civil and rational in your public postings. Capital letters and exclamation points don't win much admiration around here unless it's really great news.

Martial arts is all about self-discipline, and the masters seem to be pretty clear that it is as important to know when to respond as it is to know how to respond. With the learning of higher arts must come the acceptance of higher expectations.

Well.... on the other hand.....

It IS rather tradisional in WMA to make a great deal over an insult..... <img src="/forum/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />
