Tooting our own horn...

Postby Aaron Pynenberg » Sat Apr 16, 2005 1:12 pm

Please Forgive me, but I would like to toot our horn for a minute. ARMA-Appleton was invited to a local Asian Martial Arts Seminar today, April 16th to give a presentation on ARMA and swordsmanship. Co-Director Kevin Peterson and member Gary Lewis and I put on quite a show! My Wife was there to give honest feedback, and according to her...(she is never wrong) Ha, we did a hellof a job.

We were well received and I fielded alot of questions and had much positive feedback. The head of the seminar gave us a very gracious send off-and I think we opened alot of eyes to the complexity and completeness of our art.

Good job Kevin and Gary thanks for the help--Aaron

Very cool guys!

I´m going to watch a MMA championship in Stockholm in May, and will proudly boast my T-shirt there among all Shoto and Submission fighters and fans. Hopfully I will get some questions and can answer them and stir som interesst among those guys.

Actually the main teacher was there form Georgia, and is like a 10 dan, level instructor. I gave him ARMA's website and info as he wanted to contact John and see if John could do a demo at a larger event he was hosting in the fall sometime.

He shot video of the event and was very impressed with the art and it's history. I still didn't pick-up a digital camera but will be sure to do so very soon. I have Kevin working on getting our sparring sessions converted from the old school VHS tape to dvd digital format. When that happens I can post a bunch of clips like Lance does.

Thanks for all the positive comments from you guys. Sometimes posting these kinds of things runs the risk of sounding a little arrogant, but I can assure you all we are very humble and working hard at improving. Thanks again, Aaron
