My deepest Thanks and congratuations.

I find it simply awesome, that you added this piece to the public manuals.

Reading the first sentences, my tears almost came. Its un undescribable feeling to be connected to the old masters by reading their thoughts.

This will be a great asset for all scholars. I've seen bits and pieces of Dobringer's manuscript here and there over the years and to be able to study the entire translation is going to be very helpful I'm sure. Thanks David, keep up the good work!

David Lindholm

Thanks for this work. I have been dying to get my hands on a translate of Döbringer. I've been so busy reading that I almost forgot to express my thanks.

David, this is a major piece of work and very important to our understanding of historical fencing. Thanks!

I assume it doesn't but I haven't heard. Does this original work have illustrations, or is it just the text surviving?

I think (THINK!) that other than the stance pics in Von Danzig that Goliath is the first really illustrated (maybe the only?) version of L.

Jake:

The anonymous *Fecht und Ringerbuch* of 1508 in Glasgow is the only other illustrated Liechtenauer known -- as far as I know.

I was given the privilege by Kelvingrove Museum of viewing a colour facsimile of that manuscript, to aid me in my completion of the work about Siber posted in ARMA historical manuals. Glasgow is to publish FuRb soon, so I am not at liberty to post any illustrations.

FuRb has illustrations of the Vier Leger similar, but not identical, to those of Danzig, and other portrayals as well. I am pretty sure that FuRb is the same version of Liechtenauer that Anglo mentioned in his *Martial Arts of Renaissance Europe*.

I am intrigued by 17v reference to *frequens motus*.

It describes the flow from *vor* to *nach*, and presumably through *in des*.

Any comments about this passage?
