...you choose carefully what you eat - not becouse of some low-fat program, but 'couse you need money for a new sword
...you know what tussets, gorgets or gambesons are, better than your history teacher in the University
...you have not yet seen any historical themed films that were well-made, or not anachronistic (Yay! Pikt Trebuches!)

After a good weekend you feel(and maybe look <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) like one of the cast of Fight Club
Thanks, Bill

...you have ever been laying on the floor with an aching head wondering why you haven't taken the time to explain to your five year old son the difference between a waster and a padded sword.

...if on the very first day of Little League Baseball practice the coach pitches a ball to your son to judge his batting skills and your son takes a passing step and cuts a nice Zornhau.

...if you ever had to explain to another parent the big lump on the side of their son's head but manage to leave out the part about their rotten son coming over to your yard where your daughter was practicing with her waster and hitting at her with his cheap bokken and how your daughter counter-cutted with her waster.

That's awesome. <img src="/forum/images/icons/grin.gif" alt="" />
I can almost see that little punks expression after your daughter whacked him in the head. An obvious example of the hype surrounding the katana, kid obviously thought he'd try to show how much her weapon sucked. (Note, the key word is 'try'.) Awesome story. Can't wait to have some like those to share myself.

...You're happy because you finally got your first bruise in practice. (That's me.)

... if you proudly wear the scar on your face, and from a waster at that. (that one bled a bit)

... if you've ever seen/experienced the effects of a stop-thrust to the sternum (amazing how the human body just freezes up at times)

If you've ever answered the door for a salesman with a black eye from training and had him ask, "Uh, you're not going to beat me up, are you?"

That is me exactly, it hit my glasses, my nose and then finally split open the skin beneath my nose and above my lip! Yes, it was my fault, I actually walked into the blow.

...You've ever been emptying your dishwasher and catch yourself thinking, "Huh, I know how to fight with that knife.."
...You've ever had trouble getting a date because some guys don't want to go out with women who wield weapons.
...you have ever shocked anyone at other WMA venues with how "much" you, a mere college student, know about the German masters, when you aren't even a GFS yet.
..you have converted a corner of your room into the official Armory, and your family hopes guests don't notice the stockpile of weapons there.
...you wince visibly at the ring of Edge-On-Edge.
...You can't watch Zorro without yelling at the screen, "It's a foyning weapon, dangit!!" while everyone in the room rolls their eyes at you.
"In a fair fight, I would have beaten you!"
"Not much incentive for me to fight 'fair' is it?"

... you find yourself taking out a "little extra" on a student loan to buy swords and sparring equipment.
