Welcome New Members for February through July 2005

Postby John_Clements » Wed Aug 10, 2005 12:04 pm

Hello

We've been deficient in posting these announcements the past few months due to distractions of moving and setting up the new studio as well as travel and research. Here they are at last. As you can see, we've been overwhelmed with interest. Our apologies to those who have not yet received their packets, as we have experienced considerable delay as related above. And our regrets to those who were not selected.

I would like to say welcome to all the new members who are starting their journey in RMA and welcome back to all those that are continuing on theirs. I am especially glad to see that Aaron has renewed. Another year of crossed swords and bruises at ARMA Appleton!

I'd like to say welcome to the new people and to intro myself.

I'm Brent Coomes a Correctional Officer in Washington State US.
I've Studied Ju Fan, Wing Chun, Saboten-ryu Aikido, RMAX, and Manaois Eskrima.

The Eskrima is what has brought me to the Historical European Arts.
I'm working on the German school of long sword and looking to apply to ARMA in the New Year.
I've done some research on the other historical groups out there but none hit home like ARMA. I'd like to extend a warm thank you to John Clements on this movement of real Combative Historical Arts.

Again welcome and thank you.

How many members are we now? We must be pushing 500, at least.

Thank you guys. You know how to make a fella feel welcome.

I suppose a brief introduction is in order:

My name is Aaron Elkins and I've been in ARMA (white and red shirt) for 9 months now. I'm actually with the ARMA DFW group and practice under their tutelage. I've been interested in medieval swordsmanship now ever since elementary school when a broom was also a sword. I look forward to my time spent here and the lessons I'm sure to learn.

Simply, I can't wait to meet you all when I'm not exhausted from swordplay.

Aaron
