Just sharing a sparring video

Postby Lance Chan » Fri Sep 30, 2005 5:04 am

I figured it has been a long time since I post any sparring video. Good for us in Hong Kong there are more and more people getting interested in western swordsmanship after years of effort in promoting it and I got myself a handful of interested partners to practice with me. Here's one of the practice videos.

Unlike the majority videos I've put up that was cross-style sparring, in this video both of us practices WMA style and a lot of moves involved the use of the cross guard to trap the opponent blade and the intrigued centralized strikes with both edges.

Thanks... since someone on SFI suggested I didn't do enough thrusting and bind and wind, here's one that I did more.... I just applied different techniques on different partners in fact. I didn't ignore the bind and wind and thrusting. 1 video can't represent the whole picture. <img src="/forum/images/icons/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Dude, Lance, what is your opponent doing in that second video? And more importantly, why aren't you nailing him with the schielhau every time he strikes? (:
