What ever sword you get, you should call the manufacturer, and discuss what you want in a sword. If you intend to cut nothing but foam noodles, and plastic bottles, any quality sword will suffice. If on the odd chance you feel that with your sword you want to be able to cut sturdy materials, be it meat and bone, heavy bamboo, or a metal helm.
It is no fun cutting something you feel is a reasonable target(which is subjective to each individual ) and then finding a large hunk of the edge missing.
Modern manufacturers can and do make swords that will cut and survive, but you will need to tell them what you want to do with their swords, then they can meet your needs.
Thanks, Bill
