ahhh....but the only way in just about all cases to hit someone while defending is a masterstrike, thus why the great masters came up with them in the first place.

Defending, is a sure path to being hit, in my opinion anyway. I take it theat when you mean, "when I am behind" you mean have lost the vor, or the before time, which is then why you need to switch to a masterstrike and try and "retake" the vor? In my expirence a bind and absetzen etc..is not always the best way to retake the vor, it usually ends with you being "behind" again, which sets you up to be struck.

I tend to think that getting into binds usually will lead to wrestling/ringen etc....and then it's who is the better wrestler, not swordfighter.......or are they synonamous?
