ARMA at Grandfather Mnt. Highland Games

I had a thought...
I am really involved with my Scottish Clan Society and am begining to make plans for attending this years batch of Highland Games and Festivals in the area. The biggest of which is the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. ( http://www.gmhg.org/ ) While I will be helping to run my clans booth I thought this might be a great opportunity to have a space for ARMA to be doing demos and talking with the public throught the day. I know a similar thing was done with ARMA folk at a Ren Faire (I think) and figured this might be a good opportunity. The trick would be getting enough people to show up and support it. I know there are a couple in NC and GA. Perhaps VA folks might want to make the trip... At any rate, I had the thought and wanted to kick it around and see what everyone thought.

Well, a source material for the era of our arts is almost all German, Italian, and a little Spanish and English, I'm not sure how well it would go.

I did consider that. However, with all the rubbish at these things that passes for "Scottish" I figured no one would mind! <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> (Ive actually seen people show up at these things dressed as pixies!) I could really push it and mention that the vast majority of the blades in Scotland came from Germany and the surrounding area anyhow-- so there's a connection! <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" /> At any rate, I have sent an email to the games Q &amp; A people to see if they would allow it as a possibility first before I put too much time into it.

And alot of the mercenarys in europe during our age of interesst was scottish, at least under swedish flag during the wars of the 17th century.
