Need articles about the eveloution of the sword.

Postby Guest » Fri Feb 21, 2003 11:46 am

I'm looking for articles about the development of european swords over the ages for a school project. If you have links to online articles, that would be great, and also, if you know about any books that cover this issue, please let me know. I already have a few of Oakshotts books. I havent got "The Archeology of weapons" but it looks like he covers much of what I need there.

But I'm not only looking for the purely functional or technical aspects of the changes in sword design , but also the aesthetical side to it. A lot of swords are decorated for example, and I would like some information about this side of the coin too.

Any link or book you know of that covers these subject, please let me know.

Thanks

Einar
