I've never bought or priced wasters before. What price range do they usually fall in? Just curious.

And can you make these in different dimensions?

Thanks.

Folks, I just had some more conversations with Eric, and he has looked into the shipping charges and decieded that he cannot cover that so that will be extra, sorry for the confusion.

As far as diffrent sizes, he is not willing to do that yet as that would change the amount of time he would have to put into the process, as I said I am 5' 10" and it's a perfect fit for me, Kevin Peterson is much taller than me but he still uses this size with no problems.

As far as pricing goes, you'll have to do that homework yourselves, then comapre and make a choice on what's right for you....but let me say that I have a waster from about every company out there. These are no comparison in terms of thier handeling when compared to wood, they flex do not bounce at all (when used in pairs) and there is no denting of the actual material (when used in pairs) as well. it's practically totally maintanance free. If used with a wooden waster these effects are slightly less but still very noticeable...but again comes down to individual preferance, some do not like plastic weapons so it's up to you- choose carefully and buyer beware!

Well, I might be willing to compensate for the extra time, materials, etc. After I try the 'basic' version first of course.

Does he accept checks? I'd feel a bit better about that then sending cash through the mail.

Do the handle/grip get slippery when you start to sweat, being plastic and so?

Aaron,

Two questions:

1) Do you know what is the comercial name of the material used for the blade? My friends in Chile were wondering about that, to see if they can find a similar stuff and try to make their own.

2) Do you think this material could be adapted to make cores for padded weapons? Can you ask Eric about this?

Axel first- no, I have not found that to be the case- the plastic seems pretty porus on the handles but as contact is made with the blades the plastic there becomes, "shiny" and seems to wear in so that it is slicker-

The plastic is such that you can use a magic marker on it and it stays, but marks and stuff wash off- I think the stuff is amazing-we are also starting to put self-adhesive tennis raquette tape (actually a thin piece of leather) on the handles which improves the grips as well-

Fransico- i have no idea what the stuff is called I will ask him next chance I get- I do know that normally this type of plastic in these sizes costs a bundle but he has special connections through his work so, he gets it cheaper-

Also, please do not forget to ask his opinion into evolving these these wasters into padded swords.

ahh yes, we are looking at that, however to make the stuff thin enough to be practicle, we are not sure that it will hold up. We are looking at it though.

Any idea on when shorter/ other models will be an option? I'm short(5'4) and these are simply too long for me. I'm also intrested in a single hander for I.33.
Thanks!

They may be longer than your preferred sword length, but height doesn't have to determine that length. In ARMA Provo, there was a girl about your height or probably even shorter, and she used a huge ol greatsword. I'm 5' 7" and I prefer a bastard sword.
