Looking for a response(s)

Postby Dmitry Bartashov » Mon May 29, 2006 2:21 pm

Greetings!

Can anyone help me to find director of ARMA, John Clements? I've tried to find him through e-mail, but got no answer at all.

Actually, I'd like to get into contact with someone from New York City; moving soon there from Russia and I'd like to know, is it possible to join your organization.

Being a well-known teacher of medieval sword combat in my country and four times national champion in historical fenicng in the years 1999-2002, I would greatly like to exchange experience and - if things go well - to join ARMA, becoming one of you. Any groups out there interested?

Privet, Dmitri!

Ja govorju po-russki tozhe!

Hope your move to the U.S. is successful. Dobro pozhalovat!

I am interested when you state that you are the "national historical fencing champion" in the Russian Federation. Didn't know there existed such a thing. Could you please provide some more information on this? If you have any websites, that would be great as well. If they are in Russian, so much the better!

Specifically, I am interested in what organizations sponsored these championships and what are the qualifications.

Looking forward to hearing from you. You can also PM me or email me at genet48766@aol.com if you want.

Blagodarju Vas zaranee za Vashu pomoshch.

Well met, Gene!

It's very nice of you to answer so fast, and besides, on my native language:) Impressive.

National championships in Russia started at 1994 year, they gained some reknown and became a big event in 2000-2004; sadly, now different organisations and clubs had fragmented, and Mech Rossii (Sword of Russia, official title) is not as impressive. Instead, there are some tournaments classified as "sport historical fencing" or "reconstruction fencing";

Various organisations has been sponsoring the events, beside governmental support (which is very ethereal in fact)Naming a few - mobile phone company, some kind of architecture company, etc.

I will readily provide some links (of course, they are in russian):

I would like to hear your comments or (and) further questions!

Can you tell me, in any case, does ARMA has a group in NYC? Any contacts?
