Starting requirements and Australian members

Postby Jeffrey Formosa » Mon Jun 12, 2006 8:39 am

I have two questions that I need to ask John and the other members of this Forum.

Firstly I want to know what resources I need and if there is any fitness or solo training requirements I should meet before hand. I just have one sharp sword(no Albion, Raven or anything thing like that just an affordable first time sword from my 21 birthday) however I should be able to afford a waster and the book "Knightly Arts of the Longsword" within a month or two but getting my hands on a blunt sword is quite out of reach for me at the moment.

Also I want to know how hard it would be finding some ARMA Aussies. I live in Sydney NSW and from what I've read on the site Queensland is the only state which seems to have a group. I am of fully willing to play it solo if it comes to that but of course I would prefer fencer to fencer training.

The answers are in our Joining/New Membership section, and in the various articles on training & practice throughout the site. Finding interested serious people locally is another matter.

Thanks M.R Clements. Must of missed that info or I didn't look hard enough(wouldn't be the first time for me). With gathering more members around my area are there any rules I should know about or would I be allowed to use any manner I see fit to get more people?
