Intro and questions from Fresno, CA

Postby Chad Orrin » Sun Sep 17, 2006 3:50 pm

Greetings from Fresno, CA, Land of... Raisins, I guess. :?

I was looking at wasters (New Stirling Arms, if that helps), followed a link here, and noticed that there is an open seminar scheduled for Fresno later this year, specifically:

"Fresno, CA - Open Semianr NTP 1.0 - Dec - TBA"

Questions:
1) What is "NTP 1.0"?
2) Is there a list I can join to be kept up to date on the seminar's when & where info?
3) What is the cost? and
4) How do I register?

I did hunt around the forums, and I used the "Search" feature, but only 2 posts had the word "Fresno" in them, 1 from 2005 and 1 from 2003. I'd appreciate any help.

This is the point where I appeal to your greed: Should I be able to join said seminar, and have it go well, I have 4 others besides myself interested in ARMA, so more sparring partners to go around for everyone.

Thanks!

Why do these always have to be far away from me?

I really need to get 1.0 done, so I'm going to have to ponder how to present this to the wife. What touristy stuff is there in the Fresno area? I'm not real big on California since all I've seen of it is LAX and Ft. Irwin, but I'm seriously jonesin' to get 1.0.

Hey Will.

Jake Norwood will be back from Iraq soon. If you want, we can see about putting something together for us here in TN this fall.

Okay, I guess I'll make it official now...

I'm back. About a week now. Been decompressing (or trying to, heh).

I want to put a study day together in the next, oh, maybe week or two. When do y'all want to come over? Pick a Saturday and we'll make it an all-day affair.

NTP = ARMA's National Training Program -- seminars & workshops on our historical fencing curricula. Open events are thos eanyoen can sign up for. The 1.0 is our basic intro to the subject and our study approach. To learn more or register you will need to email the POC when it is posted on the events list or the event listing there is updated.

I don't imagine a Sunday is an option? That allows Saturday to drive down. How about the 9/30-10/1?

Fresno Seminar

Postby Adam Sharp » Tue Sep 19, 2006 8:19 pm

Hello All,

I'm the guy trying to make this seminar happen, and have completed just about all the planning, and really am only working on saving the money for it(A good chunk will be an order of about 15 wasters from NewStirlingArms to cover anyone who doesn't have their own).

Anyway, if anyone has any questions about location, cost, or date, go ahead and give me a call or email me.

My number is: (559)776-8565

and my email is: a.royal.sharp@gmail.com.

Probably count me in. I'm 2.5 hours away.

Will--not sure of tourist stuff in Fresno, but see cycling in your profile interests--good cycling that time of year at the coast where I'm at.

Let's see, fly across the country with swords and a bicycle. Perhaps I have too many hobbies. Oh, and it'll be during deer season! :(

Thanks for clueing me in to the possibilities.
