Welcome to everyone!

Keith Armstrong, I'm three hours from you.

Audra Grapes, I mapquested Centerville and got five different places. Which county, 'cuz if it's Montgomery Co. then that's only about an hour and a half from me.

I've got a few guys interested over here in Abingdon, VA if you'd like to come over sometime. I should have a new Talhoffer from Albion in a few weeks that we can all drool over...I mean appreciate and do some test cutting.

The Apex folks, I'm sorry that I just moved from your neck of the woods, but I might be over there in the not too distant future since our house still hasn't sold. That and I want to get to a Canes game!

Lenny Dick, it's good to see you are still with us.

Ernie Perez, its been seven good years!:P I'm just a few months behind you, so I guess I still have your back.:roll: Its getting hard to remember life before ARMA, swords, and that damm shield. :wink:

Thanks Will, I'll be at Fort Bragg for a couple of weeks, then I'll return to Forest. After I get resettled into my normal life we should get together for some practices..

Greetings everyone. I'm currently based in Monterey, CA... and I remember somewhere around here a sort of member-map where people had posted their locations. Does anyone remember where that was? I would like to take a look at that to see who is somewhat close to me.

I recommend using a recent browser and the latest version of Flash 9 to see the map, though it can work with some older versions.

Two handed swords

Hi everyone! I was searching in the web and i couldn´t find any full reliable site about medieval and renaissance weaponry (Except this). So, my question is: Did knights truly used two handed swords in foot combat, or this kind of swords only were used by Swiss and German mercenaries? Did dismounted knights usad the combination of shield, or main gauche, and bastard or long sword, or this kind of sword was only for the one and a half use?

Were bastard swords, long swords and great swords only used by foot mercenaries?
