Northeast Ohio

Postby Jim Reed » Mon Feb 19, 2007 9:03 am

Hi folks. I've been interested in swordfighting for some time now, but before now haven't really gotten around to investigating it in any depth. I'm currently trying to get into a regular exercise routine that I actually enjoy, and thought pursuing my interest in learning the sword might be a good way to kill two birds with one stone.

The local rec center offers fencing lessons, but I'm more interested learning the longsword than the foil. I've ordered a couple of books and have just begun looking through some of the materials on this site.

Can anyone tell me if there are any members in Northeastern Ohio area? I see that there's a Columbus group, and it looks like I just missed an event there. I'm hoping there is someone a bit more local as well, as I'm assuming pure book learning can only take me so far.

How does Youngstown sound? We had an attendee from there at our 1.0.

Youngstown's definitely closer. About an hour away, depending on which side of YTown he's on.
