HockeyGiant can link you to LacrosseGiant which I suggest for arm pads.

New hockey gear can be pretty expensive, so if there is a used sporting goods store (like Play It Again Sports here in the US) near you, that would be a good bet. Ebay can be good too, but I always think it is better to get your hands on a product before purchase if at all possible.

It seems you have misunderstood me.
Though I may disagree about the need and wisdom of a rule to use ones real, full, name, I have, of course, complied.
Your forum, your rules. Either I follow them, or I don't join.

What I meant was just that the Abu Bakr doesn't refer to what children I have, but is simply a name (refering to Abu Bakr, who was pals with the islamic prophet Muhammad).
Alan Abu Bakr is my real and full name.

Actually, arm pads aren't hard to find, so ordering them from USA would be unnecessarily expensive due to shipping. (and I've already bought a pair)

Just a quick thought, with Lance's Realistic sparring weapons, we padded both the pommel and the crossguards with foam padding and duct tape. A good idea regardless of the model.

The homepage says that the crossguards are padded with foam by default.
That padding isn't enough? If not, then how much padding would be good?

Well, mea culpa, then, for misinterpreting the intent of your "Hehe, no." If it is your real name, then, well, I have no problem accepting it. It just sounded a little weird the first time around due to the juxtaposition of Western and Arabic elements.

Hi Alan,

In Gothenburg we use lacrosse gloves and elbow pads for full contact sparring with weighted shinai, and for controlled sparring with blunt steel. We are goign to try out the new nylon wasters using that equipment aswell.

During the Swordfish -07 event here in Gothenburg there will be alot of groups represented, since there is no standardized equipment for HEMA yet, it is a great oportunity to see and hear about different types used. I say this not (only) to advertize the event (I have already done so, unfortunately most ARMA guys here perhaps live too far away), but I saw that you live in Sweden so for your interest in equipment I want to recommend a visit (registration will open soon, and you can pay for one day only if you have no desire to be there the whole event).

cheers/A

Again, I already have gloves and elbow pads (you can get lacrosse equipment in sweden?)

Yeah I've heard of it and intend to go :)
But it's in November. I intend to get some equipment before that.
